      A Rhode Island  nail event for LICENSED PROFESSIONALS  who are interested in honing in on their skills, learning new techniques, getting acquainted and connecting with local nail technicians. FAQs TICKETS Is this expo in place of the Massachusetts Nail Networking Expo? No, this expo is IN ADDITION TO the annual Massachusetts Nail Networking Expo in October How much is a ticket?  $35  for students & $65 for licensed professionals Will tickets be sold at the door the day of the expo? Yes, tickets will  be sold at the door.  ​What's included with the purchase of a ticket? First 50 tickets include a lunch voucher & beauty bag.The following 50 tickets sold thereafter will include a beauty bag.Tickets purchased thereafter is for general admission only. Student General Admission Ticket DOES NOT include lunch NOR a beauty bag. Who is the expo catered to? The expo is catered to licensed nail technicians, students (18 +), salon owners and cosmetologists  who hold a current/ valid  license. The expo is for professionals only. Those who do not hold a license, will not be permitted to enter, for example, spouses, children, friends or family. NO EXCEPTIONS. Are tickets refundable?  Tickets are non-refundable. NO EXCEPTIONS. Are tickets transferable? Yes, tickets are transferable to another licensed nail technician or cosmetologist, however you will need to process the transfer. Here are the instructions to transfer your ticket. TRANSFER TICKET The ticket MUST be in the name of the person going. NO EXCEPTIONS!  What do I need to bring with me the day of the expo? ​If you are a Licensed Nail Technician, please bring: ​1.  Print out of your ticket or electronic version of your ticket. 2.  Your official current nail tech license (Copies will not be accepted) 3.  A current and valid picture ID (drivers license, state ID, or passport)  ​ALL 3 will be needed to enter the expo.   If you are a Salon Owner, please bring: ​1.  Print out of your ticket or electronic version of your ticket. 2.  Your official current business certificate (Copies will not be accepted) 3.  A current and valid picture ID (drivers license, state ID, or passport)  4.  A business card with your name on itALL 4 will be needed to enter the expo. ​ If you are a student, please bring: 1.  Print out or electronic version of your ticket or electronic version of your ticket. 2. Your official current school ID with your name on it or a letter from your school on school letterhead, indicating you are currently a student enrolled in a nail or/ cosmetology program. Must have your name on it and signed by the school. 3. A current and valid picture ID (drivers license, state ID or passport) ​ALL 3 will be needed to enter the expo. FOR CONNECTICUT NAIL TECHNICIANS: ​You will need to provide ONE of the following: A certificate from the cosmetology school you attended A certificate from the nail school you attended Proof you are currently an enrolled student ​ALONG WITH: ​1.  Print out or electronic version of your ticket 2. A current and valid picture ID (drivers license, state ID or passport) FAQ's Nail Art Competitions- there are 2 competitions ​Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners.​Take this opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and into the competition arena.​The theme is to be determined. Hand Painted Nail Art Rules:  Who is eligible to participate? Licensed Nail Technicians   How do I enter? You have two ways to submit your work: You may submit your work in person the day of the Massachusetts Nail Networking Expo, Sunday, March 24 by 11AM.  You may mail your work in by Wednesday, March 20th.  Please make sure it is protected securely. If you’d like your nail art piece returned, please purchase postage via EventBright when registering. ​​ What is the entry fee? The entry fee is $40 ​***NON--REFUNDABLE*** Can I enter more than once? Contestants are permitted to submit more than one entry HOWEVER the registration fee must be paid for EACH entry. What can I use to create my prized possession?You may use: Nail polish, acrylic paint, gel polish.  NO AIR BRUSHING, FIMO OR STAMPING allowed. Glitter and rhinestones can be used but not exceed 25% of the nail art. Tips must be sealed with regular topcoat or gel topcoat. This is a FLAT nail art competition. No 3D. What do I use for nail tips?Your entry must consist of 10 nail tips, graduated in size, no more than 2” in length.Design theme is to be continued on all 10 nails.  Tips are not to be glued to each other. Will I be able to complete my entry at the expo?All work must be completed prior to submitting. Contestant may NOT use copyrighted art, design or logo. What else do I need to add to my entry? Contestant is to write 2 summaries consisting of: 1) the products used to create the art (do NOT name specific brands or manufacturers) 2) your interpretation of your theme NO MORE THAN 100 WORDS ********DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME ON YOUR DISPLAY OR SUMMARIES******** How do I display my nail art? Please SECURELY display your nail art on a flat plain surface (one color, no texture, no mirror). You can use a shadow box, a frame, a jewelry white box to display your art. The dimensions of the display should not exceed 8”W x 8”L or 3” in depth. How is judging done? Judging will be done by an exhibitor, educator and/or a seasoned nail technician. The nail art entered will be assigned a number so that the entrants name is anonymous. A rubric will be filled out by the judges. Winners will be announced at 3PM Glitzy Glam Nail Art Rules:​ This competition is all about the bling!  Who is eligible to participate? Licensed Nail Technicians   How do I enter? You have two ways to submit your work: You may submit your work in person the day of the Massachusetts Nail Networking Expo, Sunday, March 24th by 11AM.  You may mail your work in by Wednesday, March 20th.  Please make sure it is protected securely. If you’d like your nail art piece returned, please purchase additional postage via EventBrite when registering. ​ What is the entry fee? The entry fee is $40 ​***NON--REFUNDABLE***   Can I enter more than once? Competitors are permitted to submit more than one entry HOWEVER the registration fee must be paid for EACH entry.   What can I use to create my prized possession?You may use loose gems, crystals, nothing already pre-set. ​What do I use for nail tips?  Your entry must consist of 5 nail tips, graduated in size, no longer than 2” in length.Tips must remain individual and not be secured to one another.Tip color does not matter. ​Will I be able to complete my entry at the expo?  All work must be completed prior to submitting. There will not be any electrical equipment, work stations or products available for use.   Competitors may NOT use copyrighted art, design or logo.   What else do I need to add to my entry?  Competitors are to write 2 summaries consisting of: 1) the products used to create the art (do NOT name specific brands or manufacturers)2) your interpretation of your theme NO MORE THAN 100 WORDS  ********DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME ON YOUR DISPLAY OR SUMMARIES********  How do I display my nail art? Please SECURELY display your nail art on a flat plain surface (one color, no texture, no mirror).  The size of the mounting surface is to be a maximum of 6 inches wide by 8 inches deep by ¼ tall and it must be FLAT, FLUSH AND STURDY. A shadow box is a good way to display the nail art designs.
